The car scrappage scheme may have revived interest in the new car market, but Which? Car has found that some manufacturers have raised their list prices by as much as 14% – leaving buyers are often no better off.
The price of a mid-range Ford Fiesta has jumped from £11,570 in October 2008 when the car was launched to £13,195 in July 2009 – a massive 14% increase.
