A new initiative has been launched with the aim of providing a focal point for businesses in Durham.
The South Durham Business Network (SDBN) made its formal debut at Spennymoor Town Hall on January.
With the economic climate forecast to remain challenging throughout 2009, SDBN will seek to build a membership of between 150 and 200 in its first year.
Chairman Darren Rice said: “We need a strong voice for businesses in this difficult climate. SDBN will provide a positive and proactive forum to develop opportunities and provide assistance for local companies.
“We shall be organising a programme that encourages intertrading and networking, and responds to the demands and concerns of businesses,” said Darren who runs the training company E4 Learning Solutions.
